Session Editor allows you to view and share test artifacts. This article details functionalities provided by Session Editor.
Manage captured screenshot and actions taken from the recorded session
The Screens list in the left pane of the Session Editor shows all the screens being captured during session recording. From each screen, you can also view all the actions or notes taken during recording process.
Edit screenshot with built-in annotation tools
The Screenshot editor tab allows you to annotate every single screenshot captured by Desktop Explorer to add more information to a specific screen of the application under recording.
View Session properties
Session properties are information you entered starting a recording session, including qTest project, session title and description, the executor, the planned and actual duration, and so on.
View and manage linked objects
The Link Object tabs provide functionalities for you to link qTest objects to the recorded session including Requirement, Test Case, Test Run, Defect
View Environment information
The Environment tab allows you to view the environment where the session is recorded
Export session to various file formats
You can export the session to various format and share with others including PDF, MS Word, JPEG, Text or simply save the session to a file under .trace format so you can open and edit it later with Desktop Explorer.
Generate Test Case
You can generate test case with steps are the actions taken from the recorded session and submit to qTest.
Create and Submit Defect to an integrated defect trackers
You can create defect with the information extracted from recorded session and submit the defect to one of built-in defect trackers: JIRA, Rally, VersionOne, HPQC, TFS, etc.
