Update existing qTest Defect

  1. Click Submit button on the qTest Explorer Editor's toolbar.

  2. The message dialog below is displayed if the default connection in the Settings form has some missing information.

    Click OK to configure the connection.

  3. If the connection has been set up successfully, the Submit to qTest form is displayed. Click on the radio box of Update existing defect to see a list of fields required to update an existing defect in qTest. You need to select, enter the following information:

    • Title of the defect
    • Description of the defect
    • The ID of the defect to be updated

    qTest integration currently does not support custom fields.

    You can add more files to the tracker or embed existing files as links only on defect description section. Refer to Attachments for details

  4. Specify all other fields (if required) and then click Submit button to proceed.

  5. You will see a confirmation message when the update is complete. qTest Explorer will add a defect summary to the description field in the tracking system. A detailed report of the defect will also be attached to the tracking system.
