6.2 Configuring Automation Hosts

An Automation Host is your local machine where your automation scripts are deployed and running. qTest Automation Agent Tool is also running on this machine so that it is registered in qTest.

Java 7 or 8 need to be installed in your Automation Host so our qTest Automation Agent can work properly.

Change qTest Settings

Click on your account's displayed name and then on the pop-up windows that appears, you can either change qTest URL or qTest credentials for the host to connect to your qTest application.

Click on Save button. If the host can connect to your qTest with the input information, the settings are saved.

  • It is strongly recommended that the account is granted with Create Test Cases and Execute Test Runs permissions.
  • Existing agents will be deactivated if their configured qTest projects can not be accessible using the account.
  • If qTest URL is changed, all existing agents will be removed.
